Dana Sachs, The Life We Were Given: Operation Babylift, International Adoption, and the Children of War in Vietnam

Acclaimed author Dana Sachs will be joining us to speak about Operation Babylift, the subject of her book The Life We Were Given: Operation Babylift, International Adoption, and the Children of War in Vietnam. Books will be available for purchase at the event.

Dana has written for multiple publications, including National GeographicMother JonesTravel and Leisure Family, and The Boston Globe. She is the author of several books, including The Secret of the Nightingale PalaceIf You Lived Here, and The House on Dream Street. Her nonfiction title The Life We Were Given: Operation Babylift, International Adoption, and the Children of War in Vietnam resulted from a Fulbright Foundation Fellowship in Vietnam.

Program is presented as part of a Vietnam War topic series, inspired by the new documentary The Vietnam War, and supported by a grant from the American Library Association, PBS, and WETA in Washington DC.
